BASS TAGGING SURVEY

The Friends of Norris Lake recently purchased a bass tagging gun and 100 tags that were first utilized following weigh-in at the end of the May 3, 2008 Bass Fishing Tournament which was the lead-off venue to our SpringFest event.  Twenty-four (24) bass were tagged and are represented by the data provided below.  More recently 12 bass, including one (1) hybrid were tagged during the April 20, 2010 electro-fishing event.

Several of FONL’s avid fishermen, to include Rob McNulty, Rick Cartwright and Mike Higgins, have developed a plan to more closely monitor the growth and habits of our bass population.  Tagging is the first step, catch and release the second, and reporting the details (tag #, length, weight and general LOCATION) of a follow-on catch to one of the above is the third.  For this continuing survey to be successful one has to know about it and be conscientious enough to follow through on reporting the details.  Mike Higgins is developing a laminated grid map of Norris Lake upon which catch locations can be plotted and movement patterns discerned.

Please address your catch info telephonically to one of the following:
